Advanced Safety Planning with Immigrant Survivors (Part 1)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Immigrant survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault often face increased risks to their safety due not only to their abusers, but also due to life-generated and system-generated risks. The impacts of these life and system generated risks have been highlighted recently following changes in federal agency practices and policies. In this environment, it is important for advocates to understand how recent policy changes impact how advocates can work with immigrant survivors to address the current reality. These workshops will offer opportunities for advocates increase their knowledge about opportunities for individual, organizational, and systems advocacy to support immigrant survivors.

Part 1:  I will cover identifying ways to increase safety for immigrant survivors by understanding specific immigration policy protections available for victims and assisting survivors with individual safety planning
