We Choose Love! We Choose Democracy! We Choose Community!

We are working to create a world where everyone can live and love freely without fear. Inspired by the We Choose All of Us campaign by the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence, this year’s conference will explore what it means to choose love, choose democracy, and to choose community. Join us to get inspired and learn how to put these big concepts into action in your daily life and work.

Resisting Oppression & Building Skills for Liberation

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

According to WSCADV’s theory of change, our purpose is for all people to live and love freely without fear. But how do we get there from here??? If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, enraged, disoriented, guilty, or ill-equipped, you are not alone! In this workshop, we will use Leticia Nieto’s book Beyond Inclusion, Beyond Empowerment as a framework for understanding oppression and building skills for liberation. We won’t dismantle systematic oppression in 90 minutes, but we can offer you: a lens to see what’s going on around us more clearly, a better understanding of the impact of our own choices, tools to build our own liberation and solid allyship with each other, encouragement, humor, and a lot of heart.
