GRICELDA OHRAZDA - BOD Incumbent
(Chelan County)
I was born in Mexicali, Mexico Baja California. I was raised most of my life in the U.S. My first experience with racism as a 5 year old child was not a good one; I did not speak English so the teacher would put me in a gym locker every time I would speak Spanish. After some time I did learn one word, "Stupid" because that was that word my teacher would call me before making me walk in to the gym locker. I was married at a very young age and divorced after 22 years of being a victim of domestic violence and sexual assault. My experience made me who I am now; I am a strong woman that had the tenacity to stand up and work hard to become a leader, someone that my children take great pride in. I have worked with survivors for 15+ years. I worked as a Deputy Clerk, chemical dependency counselor, pro bono legal services coordinator, and as a Crossing Borders DV advocate in the rural Douglas and Chelan Counties. I am a Home Visitor and Certified Peer Specialist with Children’s Home Society, and an entrepreneur doing supervised visitation. I've been on the WSCADV Board for two terms and would like to continue serving.
