Onion M. Carrillo de Norman, MSW started facilitating training's for Communities Against Rape and Abuse in 2002. She was the founder of Ladies First, a Seattle based arts collective focused on using art as a tool for healing and liberation. Onion’s facilitated training's on interpersonal violence and support groups for survivors of sexual abuse. She has also provided clinical training's on Perinatal Mood Anxiety Disorders, Child Protective Services, Adverse Childhood Experiences and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Onion was also published as a co-author in The Color of Violence INCITE anthology for a piece called Taking Risks: Implementing Grassroots Community Accountability Strategies. She formerly served the Board of Directors for Open Arms Prenatal Services. She has practiced as a doula. Onion received her MSW from the University of Washington. She was formerly the Maternity Support Services Program Manager for Sea Mar where she fostered interdisciplinary practices by managing teams of Social Workers, Registered Nurses, Community Health Workers and Infant Case Managers in each of her six clinics. She also had oversight for the Childbirth Education classes in Spanish and the doula program. Onion is currently on the Board of Preventionand Treatment of Traumatic Childbirth (P.A.T.T.Ch.) and the Board of Directors for Homeschool Support Association (H.S.A.)
