Public Policy Coordinator
Tamaso Johnson serves as Public Policy Director for the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WSCADV). In this role he leads WSCADV's legislative and policy advocacy efforts to increase safety and autonomy for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, promote accountability, and address the root causes of violence. Prior to joining WSCADV, Tamaso led policy advocacy efforts at the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Tamaso has led successful advocacy to secure and increase funding for victim services and housing, reduce abusers' access to firearms, safeguard survivor privacy, and improve systems response to immigrant survivors. Since 2009 he has been a volunteer with the WomensLaw.org national email hotline, reviewing and responding to questions regarding domestic violence legal matters. Tamaso holds a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Washington.
